Sanford Bishop

Sanford Bishop Jr. (Democratic Party) is a member of the U.S. House, representing Georgia's 2nd Congressional District. He assumed office on January 3, 1993. His current term ends on January 3, 2027.

Sanford Bishop was born in Mobile, Alabama, in 1947. He earned a bachelor's degree from Moorehouse College in 1968, and a J.D. from Emory University in 1971. His previous work experience included working as a lawyer. Bishop served in the Georgia House of Representatives from 1977 to 1990 and the Georgia Senate from 1992 to 1993.1
